Especially for Children

The entire day will be one of new and exciting sights and sounds for the children with some activities planned just for them. Throughout the day children may pick up a passport and a coloring book at any information tent and/or clan tent and travel through the world of Scottish clans. The entire family will enjoy the wonders of Highland Cattle, Clydesdale Horses, Shetland Sheep, the Falconer and the Border Collies herding sheep and ducks; as well as the living history troupe in their authentic costumes. And for the musicians and dancers, not to be missed is the Highland Dance Competition, with competitors as young as 5 years old, as well as competitions on Fiddle, Harp, Pipes and Drums that often have children as young as elementary age competing.

The Children's Games begin at 2:00 p.m. at The Oak Grove with these athletic events for children being grouped by ages 5 years and under to 13 years. First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded to participants in each age group. A participants ribbon will be awarded to all others. No registration is required.
