ALASDAIR FRASER & NATALIE HAAS

Alasdair Fraser Natalie Haas

Alasdair Fraser’s dynamic fiddling, engaging stage presence, and deep understanding of Scotland’s music have created a constant and international demand for his performances. Alasdair has been a major force behind the resurgence of traditional Scottish fiddling in his homeland and the U.S., inspiring legions of listeners and learners through his recordings, annual fiddle camps and concerts.

The musical partnership between Alasdair and Natalie Haas may not seem an obvious one. But this seemingly unlikely pairing is the fulfillment of a long-standing musical dream for him, whose cutting edge musical explorations took him full circle to find a cellist who could help him return the cello to its historical role at the rhythmic heart of Scottish dance music. Natalie is in the vanguard of young cellists who are re-defining the role of the cello in traditional music. Alasdair and Natalie perform Scottish fiddle music of unrivalled beauty, eloquence and passion.

Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Haas will be featured performers at our Friday night Highland Concert, as well as perform two shows on Saturday at the Games and lead a fiddle workshop.

The Brigadoons

The Brigadoons

Formed in 1971, The Brigadoons have, through all these years, promoted the Celtic music so popular in Glengarry County. Their peppy brand of Celtic music was instantly embraced by the public, young and old. Whether they played to the crowd at the Atlantic Hotel or for a dance at the Bonnie Glen, they played to full houses and they kept the floor full all night.

Members changed through the years but the band`s following continued to grow. Fortunately for their fans, The Brigadoons are still performing their traditional sound. And while new songs are being added to their repertoire, they still perform old favourites such as "The Road to Dalhousie", "Glengarry my Home" and "The Martintown Song" at the request of their loyal fans.

The Brigadoons will be featured at the Friday night Ceilidh following the Highland Concert, as well as performing shows throughout the day on Saturday at the Games.
